Family

Justin just returned from Vegas late last night.  He had been gone since Wednesday and those four days were some of the hardest days the kiddos and I have had.  I'm not sure what has gotten into them.  We had three days with no naps, lots of hitting, time out, crying, late nights and a mentally exhausted mom. Thankfully, my mom spent most of Friday with us!  Saturday, after trying for an hour to get them to nap (after waking at 5:30 and 6), I gave up.  I decided to take them to the library.  What the HELL was I thinking.... two two year olds that hadn't napped.  They were pulling books off the shelves left and right, running down the isles, jumping off an ottoman and not obeying.  We kept getting the side eye from one of the librarians.  Fortunately/unfortunately, I ran into a friend.  Her kids were reading and silently playing on the computer.  As I was about to breakdown, I asked her if she minded helping me take them to the door.  My hands were full of books, so I only had one available.  I have never been more embarrassed.  I sat in the car and cried.

Spent a lot of time in the time out chair
So..... today we had a much needed family day.  Usually on the weekends, we are rushing around, trying to get errands done or cleaning house.  Today was all about the kids.  It was awesome.  We spent a lot of time at the park.  I left my phone in the car so I could be 100% focused on them.  We let them walk instead of ride in stroller, threw rocks in the pond, looked at leaves, ran together, held hands and laughed.  It was wonderful! Constant smiles on all of our faces!  Sadly, I don't have any pics bc we both left phones in car.

Today I took a breath.  I know this is just a stage.  I love my babies so much!
