It happened

They put their "boppys" in their Easter baskets!  Claire was exhausted and went to sleep immediately, Max cried on and off for about 10 minutes.  Not too bad!  Lets hope the rest of the night goes well!

I think they'll be happy with the trade!

Easter Basket Showcase

I'm linking up with Sarah at Our Journey to showcase our Easter Baskets!  While Max and Claire don't understand much about the meaning of Easter or the Easter Bunny, we have been talking about it because we are using it as an opportunity to get rid of paci!!

When we were at Target last week, we walked up and down toy isles so they could show me a special toy they would like to have.  Saturday night they will give all of their "boppys" to the Easter Bunny, who is going to deliver to other babies that need them!  Fingers crossed this goes well!

Claire's Basket:
Large marker, pink crocs, hello kitty stickers, princess cups and a play pack that will be great for  restaurants.
The baby doll is what she wanted as her special prize from the Easter  Bunny!

Max's basket:
Large marker, blue crocs, stickers, Cars cups and a play pack

A few Elmo eggs to fill up with other stickers

The excavator is Max's special prize for giving up his boppy!
As of now, we don't have any sweet treats.  I may add some organic gummy bears or animal crackers in one or two eggs.

Looking forward to an Easter Egg Hunt/Party with our friends tomorrow night!  Wishing we were going to have nicer weather...looks like 55 will be the warmest we will have :(

Potato Chip Cookies

Warning! These cookies are not low fat and are very addicting!

Just needed to give a heads up before you make these!  This is one of my favorite cookie recipes that my Mother in Law makes.

Secret ingredient: Lays Potato Chips!

There may be a POUND of butter......

Ingredients:
1 lb butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla ( I used 2)
1 cup crushed potato chips (Lays recommended)
3 cups flour
1 cup pecan pieces
powdered sugar

Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla
Stir in crushed potato chips
Slowly add in flour
Stir in pecans
Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheet (You don't want these too big)
Bake at 350 for 14-16 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar after they have cooled
ENJOY!!

Sadly, I packed them up to deliver too quick to take a picture of the finished product.  I delivered to Lindy over at Itsy Bitsy Paper, school teachers and my old nurses in the ANTE unit at the hospital!

Check out Lindy's blog where these will be featured on her Cookie Time Tuesday!! And while you are there, check out all her cute stationary!

Paci extension

Easter is quickly approaching and I'm starting to get scared.  I have been wanting to get rid of Max and Claire's boppy's (paci) since they turned two.  When their birthday rolled around we decided to make the boppy stay in bed for nap and night time only.  That has worked well.  I had planned on them giving their boppys to the Easter Bunny.  BUT they are finally sleeping well and even sleeping past 7am!  This is huge!

Right around bday

While I did take away daytime boppy, I never took them out of the car or out of the BOB.  I have always kept one attached to their carseats and stroller.  Now that Easter is less than a week away, I'm thinking we will give car and stroller boppys to the Easter Bunny?  baby steps!

I know it needs to be done, I'm just not ready to pull the trigger!
Those of you who have children with pacis, when did you take it away?  How long (or did it) effect their sleep?

Grab Bag

Thanks to Facebook and some friends, I found about a great deal at a local boutique, Dress Code.
They are having a three day "grab bag" sale.  They have bags set up by size for $50 and there is no peeking!  There are three items in each bag, valued over $400/$450.  So even if you don't like what you get or it doesn't fit, you could consign and get your money back :)

I was so nervous to open the bag.  I ended up going for a run {1/2 marathon is in two weeks} and waiting to open until I got back.
I did lots of daydreaming while running in this beautiful neighborhood!  Only in my dreams!  Hoping to win the megamillions tonight!

I was very unsure of what size to get.  I wear mostly sixes, but I figured it would be better to go up bc I can get it taken in if too big.  Glad I did!  My bag consisted of a pair of jeans, strapless lace dress and a little jacket thingy. The jeans fit perfect, but the dress is way too big.  I will definitely get it taken in.  It will be perfect for Easter and Derby Party with a bright pink or navy cardigan!
I was so excited about my bag, I got my friend to go get one.  She liked it just as much so we decided to go in half and get another bag.  It included a sleeveless sweater, skirt and a belt.  I didn't like it as much as mine.  We are going to try everything on tomorrow.

Love finding good deals!

Green and Bling

What a beautiful Saturday we had!  High 60s to low 70s.  Perfect for outside play and a picnic!
First time trying Stoneyfield's squeezers

They "helped" me trim the rose bushes, helped Daddy pick up sticks and enjoyed playing in the grass.
breaking a stick over her knee like Nanny!

We even brought out their trikes they got for Christmas.  They still need a little practice on steering!

Later that evening, Justin and I headed to the Junior League of Greensboro's Showhouse for the Denim and Diamond event.  Last night it was an empty house party.  We were able to see the house before the designers transform all the rooms and landscape.  It's a really neat house - can't wait to see what the designers do! (You will see it in Traditional Home Magazine!)  JLG was also celebrating 85 years.
You were able to purchase one (up to five) of the 85 boxes at a chance to win a $3000 pair of diamond earrings!  I bought two boxes and won a nice pair of cz earrings and a gift box to a really cool gift store.

Had an amazing time with these pretty ladies and their husbands!

Even had lots of laughs from our friend getting locked in the bathroom!  Still laughing about that!
Happy to be set free!!
While the girls mingled, the guys were playing craps and other poker games.  I tried, but didn't understand.  I just wanted to roll the dice!

Looking forward to the next event at this house, Derby Party!

Funny and Not Funny

Funny:
Last night was Bunco.  Have you played?  Ton of fun!  Anywho, it was at a house I hadn't been to.  I plugged it in gps and parked where I saw my friend's parked cars, figuring it must be the house.  I grab my wine, plate of cookies and head to the door.  Two men were standing outside, one grabbed a cookie and the other said I could come in through the back.  {I'm figuring these are the husbands of some of the women} I walk in and the house is dead quiet.  I look at the man that came in after me and asked if I was at the right house!  I told him the street address and he said I was at wrong house! "What?, my friend's car is parked right beside your driveway!  You are kidding, right?"  He just started laughing and said I was supposed to be two houses down!  I was so embarrassed.  He just let me walk right in his kitchen like I knew where I was going.  Luckily, he was nice and didn't shoot me for walking in his house!  Turns out his wife is also in Bunco, just wasn't going last night!

NOT Funny:
Two sick kids.  Claire had a high temp Sunday night and had a terrible cough so I took her to the doctor Monday morning.  Turns out she has an ear infection.  The doctor was also concerned with her cough and how her lungs sounded.  She mentioned RSV, but then said Mycoplasma.  Thanks to meds, she is feeling much better.  ~ just dealing with a nose that runs like a faucet.

Tuesday night, Max woke up at midnight crying and coughing (a different cough) and had a temp.  I texted the doctor and she said I could bring him in or wait a day.  I waited, but should have taken him in.  He also has an ear infection.  He just finished his antibiotics from his last ear infection last week!  We talked about tubes and decided we would see the ENT if he gets one more.  She put him on the same meds as Claire, hoping to make sure he doesn't get Mycoplasma and clear up his ear.

The past few days have been rough for me.  They have been crying, whining, fighting non stop.  I think they cried from 6am-11am yesterday....sometimes together, sometimes taking turns.  And today Max's cough was so bad and he decided he didn't need a nap.  OVER it!  So glad they are going to school tomorrow bc this Mom needs a break!!

When I see this picture, I just try to remember cute ones like this

Catching up

Hi!  It's been a week.  This weekend we had a fabulous time in Charlotte with Justin's family.  We ate, shopped, played games and just had nice quality time!  The kids were great and even started sleeping later!  totally jinxing myself   I remember being upset last year when Daylight savings time didn't help me in the spring, but it has this year!  I couldn't believe it when they slept until 7:45 this morning!! loving it!
Also loving the warm weather and sunshine!  I wish it was here to stay.  Justin was able to come home early today so we took the kiddos to the park.
Miss Personality
Our morning started off with pouring rain so the ground was saturated and there were mud puddles everywhere.  They still found things to play with and on!

Anyone watch The Bachelor?  This wasn't my favorite season, but I watched every episode! I was disappointed with "the most exciting news" last night.  I thought the show dragged.  It might be bc I wasn't in love with either girl.  Catherine is cute and sweet (just thought she seemed too young) so I hope it works out! I also stumbled across Sean's sister's blog.  Love it!  I also love her food blog.  I have made three of her recipes and they have all been good.  Tonight I made crescent roll casserole.  It was good!  I added black beans to mine.  I think the options and mixins are endless!
Cresent Roll Casserole ~ YUM!
And just a few pics from this past week!

Some things

I haven't been blogging much lately.  I'm blaming Facebook and Instagram.  I upload pictures {almost} daily on Instagram leaving little to blog about.  Instagram pretty much sums up our days; early wake up times, gym, children's museum, playdates, dinner and girls' nights!

Actually, they have been sleeping in until 6:30.  It's great.  You would think they were sleeping in until 8!  Their personalities come out more and more each day.  There's not a day that goes by that they don't crack me up or surprise me with new things.
He is hilarious!
Yesterday he wore a UGA ear warmer all day!  He even wore his snow boots to the Children's Museum!

How have they grown up so fast?!
Love when I can dress them alike!

I've also been {kind of} busy training for the upcoming 1/2 marathon.  Tomorrow will make it one month away.  The furtherest in training i've done is eight miles.  I've been taking lots of classes at the gym and only running a few miles before or after class.  Yesterday I had to fight for my favorite treadmill.  I'm a treadmill snob.  I only like a select few and refuse to use the others.
Speaking of gym... people need to learn some gym etiquette.  towels, people, towels!  Bring your towel, but more importantly, wipe down your machine.  No one wants to get on a piece of equipment with someone else's sweat all over it.  That's definitely my biggest pet peeve!   I also can't stand when people stand in your personal space during classes... give me some room to move!

Can't leave out my girls' nights!  Thankfully, Justin knows how important it is for me to get out and be with my friends.  Most of the time it's after kids are in bed.  My favorite is Monday night.  A group of us get together at someone's house to watch the Bachelor!  It's the greatest!  We eat, drink and talk way too much.  Can't wait til next week's finale! - although I'm not a fan of either girl.  Des all the way!
