Round TWO

Got my levels back today.  No bueno.  The HCG hormone had gone up by 4000.  Meaning I still had ectopic pregnancy.  Once my results came in, they sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound.  I had to see the on call doctor for our practice and apparently there was some miscommunication and I was there 4.5 hours!  I finally got the MTX injection at 10:45 and headed home.  Thankful for my Mom and Justin.  Mom came over straight from work so Justin could come with me.

I'll go back for more blood work Thursday and Sunday to see if this dose is working.  I really pray it is bc I do not want to have to go through surgery. I'm ready to move on.

Luckily these two have been able to distract me!

No words

I was hoping to be posting about this:

But today, when I went in for my first ultrasound, they found that I had an ectopic pregnancy.  I was in shock.  Complete shock.
I found out two weeks ago that we were pregnant.  If you know my past, you know that I struggled with infertility for a few years, then after 3 failed IUI and 1 IVF, Max and Claire were born.  So you can imagine how surprised and excited I was to be finding out we had gotten pregnant ON OUR OWN!  I immediately called my OB and had blood work.... then had it two more times to check my HCG levels.  I had my last call this morning saying they had risen nicely....
I could tell almost immediately that something was wrong during the u/s. The tech wasn't saying much or answering my questions. Surprisingly, I have not been in a lot of pain.  I would just be around six weeks.
After finding out, I had to go to the hospital to get blood work then was given a Methotrexate injection. This stops the pregnancy from growing. {insert tears}.  I'll go back for more blood work Saturday and next Tuesday, and then weekly until no pregnancy hormone is detected.
I've had a few friends experience a miscarriage, but I don't think you can truly understand the sadness til you go through it yourself.
I know God has a plan, a much bigger plan, but that doesn't make me feel better right now.  I just keep thinking about how excited I was two Thursdays ago.  We just told our parents this past Friday.  Their reactions were priceless. And now.... ugh... this just sucks.

Sorry for such a depressing post.. just needed to get it off my chest.

ThReE

So, Max and Claire are three.  They have been three since Jan. 22.   It's crazy how fast time flies.  I still have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not in a dream.  I have twin toddlers. That are three.

They are my world.  I cannot imagine life before them.  This age, while it's a challenge, is so much fun!  The things they say and do are hilarious.  The other day we were listening to an upbeat "old McDonald", Claire said, "this is my jam!" I died!
Tonight, while putting them to bed, she was acting out big time.  I popped her.  She then proceeded to tell me, "that was not cool, mom"  haha. It was all I could do not to bust out laughing. She's a pistol.  She is a mini me.  There is no denying she is mine!  She loves her dolls and is such a good mommy to them.  I love watching her play pretend.  She is very observant.  Both her and Max like to help in the kitchen.  Playing in the sink is their favorite.  That's where they make "cookies".  Claire is good at giving directions, but awful at following them.  We are really trying to work on this!  I will be helping them clean their playroom and she'll look at me (with hand on hip) and say, "looks like we are almost done!"  ~ when She hasn't lifted a finger.
She is so independent now.  She likes to take a shower by herself, dry her hair with her new pink hair dryer, pick out and get dressed herself, make calls, go to meetings and send lots of texts!  She loves taking my phone and calling people on my favorites list... often calling people before 7 am ;).
Music and dancing are still on top of her favorites list.  Girl has moves!

Max man is still my cuddler.  He can be difficult, but it's usually when his sister is antagonizing him.  If he is by himself, he is so sweet and cuddly.  He likes to hold hands and has the best smile and giggle around.  He has a new addiction to tv.  He is obsessed with Paw Patrol and Bubble Guppies.  I have to set a limit on tv watching bc he would watch it all day if I let him.  I love watching him use his imagination.  He likes to build forts and measure with Justin's big tape measure.  He is also obsessed with his balance bike that he got for Christmas.  He is so fast and loves his bike!  No fear!  He likes to jump.  He is constantly climbing and jumping off things.

Sleep
ay yi yi.... Sometimes I feel like I have newborns again.  We usually start our day around 6:45.  Sometimes earlier, sometimes later.  Still taking afternoon naps, but there are days that we skip them.  If they nap, it's usually 2 hrs. 1:30-3:30.  Bed time, oh bed time.  I feel like this process takes forever.  I am a sucker and lay down with them every night.  I swore I would never do that, and here I am.  I don't mind it if they go to sleep quickly, but many nights they goof off and it can take up to an hour to get them to sleep... so 9pm! Way too late!  Then my precious Claire wakes up anywhere b/t 1-4am and wants milk or to get in our bed.  #annoying.  I'll give her milk if its after 3.  Max usually sleeps through the night, but is the early riser.

Favorites
Claire: dolls, jewelry, baby carriages, memory games, reading, dancing, shoes, her bunny and blanket and coloring
Max: his bike, paw patrol, bubble guppies, playing ball, reading, cars/trucks, building forts

Food
Claire: eggs, olives, pastaroni (mac and cheese), cheese, apples, pears, smoothies (spinach with lots of fruit), turkey
Max: peanut butter, pb and honey sandwiches, bananas, yogurt, oatmeal, applesauce, apples, smoothies, any pasta, chicken

Stats
Claire
35 lbs (82nd %)
38.5 in (76th %)

Max
42 lbs (99%)
41.5 in (99%)

Both happy and healthy :)

Cayman Brac part II

Back to the wedding week!

Thursday was the rehearsal lunch.  It was held at the home of the Bride's parents and given by the Groom's parents.

This freaked me out.  Makes me want to be a vegetarian.  Kind of.
Beautiful views all around.

Later that afternoon, she surprised us with a massage and facial at sunset... and that is her parent's beautiful house!  It was amazing.  Definitely something I could get used to!

The day of!
We all had our hair and makeup done, had some mimosas and headed to the resort!

Cayman Brac Wedding part 1

First things first... I could not have gone on this week long trip without the support of my husband.  My best friend was getting married, I went to a tropical island and he stayed home with the kids.  Husband of the year!  Icing on the cake... he did not have one complaint the whole week and the house was spotless when I got home.  That's LOVE!

Now~I think I've been putting off this post bc there is so many great pictures and so much to talk about. I'm just going to split the week up.

Cayman Brac is a part of the Cayman Islands and is in the Caribbean.  My friend's parents moved there a few years ago and was first attracted to this small island bc of the scuba diving.  The water is beautiful!

The first few days we just kept things calm.  The weather was beautiful!  The Maid of Honor and I went for a run in the mornings then headed straight for the lounge chairs!

There was a lot of reading in peace and quiet!

Monday night we had a personal chef come and make us dinner.  She made fish tacos that were delish!

Tuesday I helped the Bride with the set up of her tables and some crafts.  I'm telling ya, she went all out on her decorations.

cool cruise ship in front of our house

Wednesday was a rainy day and went on an island tour.  I was kind of "meh" about going, but it turned out to be so much fun!

One of our stops was at Foots' house.  he is an artist that does a lot of sculpting.  His work is interesting!

  Partaaay time with tomorrows post!
