Bananas, Wild Woman and a Big Boy!

Today has been great.  Max and Claire took great naps and have been in a good mood all day.  Their first nap they woke up a little early so we took that time to walk to the cleaners and Earth Fare for some goodies.  It got up to 100 today so it was a good thing we got our walk in at 9:30 when it was only 84!
I was putting up some groceries and noticed an overripe banana and took this as an opportunity to make Max and Claire a little snack.  They LOVED it!  Max did the best I have seen him do :)After feeding them, Claire started "talking" like a wild woman!  It makes us laugh so hard when she does this. Sometimes she does this in her crib! ha!
Apparently, I need lessons on blogging.  I couldn't figure out how to upload the video here, so instead it is a separate postI need blogging help BAD!

I am so amazed every day at how big Max is!  He is growing up too fast!
look at those feet!

They have also started this new thing of grabbing at my face.  When I lay them down for a nap or if we are rocking before bed, they either rub or grab at my face.  It's pretty cute until they grab my cheeks!  I thought adults were supposed to be the cheek pinchers!!  And they have been so smiley the past few days.... it melts my heart :)

I love when....

..... people comment on twins.  For example, today I took the babies to TJ Maxx.  While checking out the clerk said, "I had two children 18 months apart.  That is harder than twins"  REALLY?!  This may be true sometimes, I don't doubt that for a minute, but I am tired of people saying that.  You don't know if it is easy or hard, just like I don't know how easy or hard it is to have two children 18 months apart.  Every baby/child is different.

I also love when people see you struggling to open a door, trying to push a double stroller through and not help.  Is it really hard to take an extra second to hold the door for someone?

That's it! just needed to get that off my chest.

Looking forward to girl's night :)

Family pool day!

Today was our first time going to the pool as a family!  I've been looking forward to this day for a while.  The pool was very crowded, but we found a little shaded spot, dropped off all of our stuff, and headed straight to the pool.  Max and Claire loved it!  In fact, Max didn't want to leave!  He played the whole time.  His favorite was to pretend to jump in - this kid was all smiles and giggles :)  Claire was a little tired and only played for about 15 minutes before she was ready for a nap.

Max went in for round three with Daddy!

4 wonderful years!

So,  I'm a few days late.  Justin and I just celebrated our four year anniversary! and his birthday!
We went out for a nice dinner at 1618.  We had a delicious scallop appetizer then for dinner I tried sea bass for the first time and Justin had ahi tuna.  Mine was ok.  The sea bass came out fried and I don't remember the menu saying that.  It was a little to buttery flavored for me.
the presentation was nice!

Justin's tuna

I can't believe how fast four years has gone by.  He truly is amazing and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and father for our children.  We have so much fun and although the past five months have been a bit tiring, they have been five of the best months we have had together and, of course, as a family!

The end to an amazing day and fantastic reception :)  we danced til the end!  Justin stepped on part of my train and it ripped so we had to tie it up in a bow to keep it off the floor!

Here's to another amazing year!

Presentless birthday

Tomorrow is Justin's birthday and our four year anniversary.  I have been struggling to find a gift for both birthday and anniversary.  Just like most men, Justin buys things when he wants them, leaving nothing for me to buy.....not to mention I don't work anymore so I would be using his our money to buy his gift. (enter guilt)
Then I looked up anniversary gifts online and for four years it says, fruit/flowers or appliances.  Well I can assure you I am not getting him fruit or flowers and there is not an appliance that boy needs or will use!
Anywho... so yesterday instead of participating in our family run, I let him take the babies and I stayed home.  While he was gone, I mowed the grass- something he hates to do - and prepped ingredients to attempt make his favorite meal, veal parm.

It turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!!
He was very thankful of the mowed yard as well!
My parents are coming over tomorrow night so we can have an anniversary dinner and Justin's parents are stopping by Saturday and our watching the babies so we can go out again!

My wheels are turning for an anniversary gift.... any ideas?!

A peach at The Peachtree!

This little guy had his first taste of a peach!  While Justin and I and the rest of the Fredrick clan were running the 10k, Max and Claire were strolling around with James, Katie, Sarah and Brittain.  They even got to meet the peach guy!
Max loved his first peach!! He kept leaning in for more.  I'm heading to the store today to stock up on some.  Claire was asleep so she missed out on the action.  I'm going to attempt to make baby food again this week.

I had a few goals going into the race:  1. run the whole way  2.  get an extra t-shirt  3.  run the whole way!
And I'm happy to say I did :)  It may not have been the fastest (1:07), but I did NOT walk!  It felt great and I was proud of myself.  I think this was my fourth time running and this was probably the first time I did not walk at all!!  It helped to run with Becky, who did a great job pacing me :)  My legs are a little sore today, but I look forward to adding some miles to our family run!
Max and Claire did awesome on our trip.  The way down was a headache bc Max cried/whined for at least 100 miles straight.  They did great on Sunday.  We went to a bike shop and to a spaghetti cookout (it has been a tradition for many years the night before the race) so they missed two naps.  They were champs!  Our trip back was great! (besides going through lots of storms)  They both slept 90% of the way and NO tears!!

Now it's time to unpack ugh and start thinking about Justin's birthday present and anniversary gifts!  I have two days to come up with something?!!
