Need travel advice!

Sadly Justin's grandmother passed away this morning. She was 90 years young!! She was quite a lady and I'm so thankful to have met her and that Max and Claire got the chance to meet her!

We will be flying to New Jersey this Sunday (their 1st bday) and I'm nervous about the plane ride.
I know a few of you have traveled recently and I could use your advice! Luckily we can borrow two pnp when we get there. We are taking our car seats and renting a van when we get there.
What all can I take on the plane? Would I be able to take squeeze pouches for them to eat? They will still be on formula until their one year well baby and I guess I can't make bottles until we go through the gates?

Any help/advice is appreciated!

Doesn't he look huge next to her?!

  1. I'm so sorry about Justin's grandmother. And that's a hard age to travel! One of my friend's said she always gets brand new toys for her kids when she flies so they'll be entertained.

I used to always take emergency dum-dum suckers too, just in case there's a mid-flight meltdown.

Sending prayers for your family. Hope all goes well!

  2. I'm sorry about Justin's grandmother and the circumstances around your trip.

We don't fly out until next week... My plan is:

    - a few new toys
    - uploading Elmo movies onto my iphone, and putting the iphone in the apptivity case
    - lots of snacks
    - letting them walk as much as possible in the terminal so they are tired and less restless on the plane
    - my girls will never fall asleep on a plane (they are strictly crib sleepers) so we chose to fly during the day when they're hopefully happier
    - I'm bringing ready to feed formula, which shouldn't be a problem to get past security

I think they will let you take the squeeze pouches through security. I'm gonna try to have all liquids in a zip lock bag as we go through security so they don't have to go riffling through my bag.

    Good luck!

  3. Thanks girls! New toys will not be a problem since their bday party is Saturday!! Ready formula is a great idea... looks like a trip to Target is in order!

  4. I've taking Macey twice on a plane and it has been great both times. Give them a bottle of juice or formula during take off and bring snacks and toys! I've never had an issue with taking anything through the gate as far as food goes. I've taken all kinds of packaged foods for a baby. Macey lives to look out the window and entertains her for a while. Give yourself plenty of time to get through security bc it does take a little longer sometimes with a baby! Good luck and safe travels!
