This is a proud mommy!!

Last weekend's cookout in Atlanta was fabulous!  It was low key and surrounded by the Fredrick's family and close friends.

We had outfit changes!

I was hoping for a nap in between the brunch and the cookout but because I messed up the cake the night before, I was making another.  I left out 3 cups of sour cream and didn't realize until I saw it in the refrigerator the next morning! ha!  Once again, I made the cake and Darcy decorated.  We're a pretty good team if I dare say so myself!
she handmade these flowers!

This is one of our friend's little girl.  She is so grown up!! After we had put the babies down for the night, we heard her (on the monitor) singing to them in Spanish and English...and found out she had unswaddled them and surrounded them with their lovies!!  I just started laughing when I went to check on them!

This is James holding Max.  He is going to take care of Max and Claire while we run the Peachtree in July!

Max and Claire were showered with more gifts!

We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!!

Alright, I think I am finally caught up!  Now we have to get back to our daily photo shoots!

Oh - last night Justin and I had a date night on the back porch!  We waited to have dinner til after the kiddos went to bed.  Justin lit the grill at about 8:00.  I was in my work out clothes when he came in the kitchen all showered and dressed. Wait. What?!  So I went to shower and put on a dress and heels!  We had our chicken kabobs and potato salad and sat on the deck by candlelight (two yankee candles!!) , some music and a glass of wine.  It was SO nice!!  We were talking today and said how much fun we had and it felt like it did 3 years ago!  Here's to more nights like that!!

Brunch and Cookout

This post is so a week behind - but better late than never!
We went to ATL last weekend for a brunch and cookout in honor of Max and Claire.  This was a time Grandma and Grandpa could show off their beautiful Grandchildren!!  The weekend was perfect, although we could have used a couple of extra hours in our day on Saturday!
I have so many pictures, so I'll just let the pictures show the details of our day!

Max and Claire received lots of wonderful gifts!

4 Months

I've already done Max and Claire's individual post, but here are some of the pictures they took together during our photo shoot!

In a lot of the pictures, Claire looks just as big as Max.... but she is so petite compared to him. I think her little feet look like newborn feet :) pure sweetness!

Poor Max!  He is always looking and smiling at Claire and she just ignores him!
He's gonna be a sweet guy just like his Daddy!

Claire 4 months

Our sweet baby girl is 4 months old!!

And has more personality than ever! (can't you tell by that face!)
This beautiful girl slept til 6:45 this morning!!!  I am not sure if it is coincidence or if the teaspoon of cereal helped!  I woke up around 3:30 and pumped.  It's not so bad bc I usually wake up around that time bc I am used to it, get in a quick pump and go right back to bed.  It's helping me keep up with them.  You are a much better napper than you used to be.  You average a 1.5/2 hr nap 3-4 times a day

Claire, you are eating 5-6 times a day and taking 6 oz each time.  You drool a lot!!  I bet that means you are getting ready to start teething.  You wear a size 1/2 diaper and most of your clothes are 3-6 months (although they are a little big)  I love playing dress up with you.  One of my friends gave us a huge bag of hammy downs and I would have to dress you twice a day to go through all of them!  I love putting you in bows.  They look beautiful on you and everyone makes a comment if they don't see you with one on!!

You do a great job supporting your head.  Tummy time is a breeze for you.  At times you look like you are doing a yoga pose!  You can sit in your bumbo and play for long periods of time.  You kick your feet like crazy when you are on the play mat.  We still do our swimming motions when you are on your back!  (do the butterfly, butterfly, butterfly - do the back stroke, back stroke, back stroke - do the breast stroke, breast stroke, breast stroke - do the freestyle, freestyle, freestyle)  It seems to make you smile!  You love baths so I think you are going to be a fish in the pool - which opens this weekend!!

You have been making us laugh so much.  You are so predictable when we put you to bed.  You throw your head to the left and try to inch towards your bumper.  (Am I a bad mom for not removing your bumper?!)  You like to be snuggled up to it - kind of like when we hold you and you are sleepy, you put your face in our armpits!! lol  Last night when I came to check on you, you had done a 180 in your crib.  we laid you down one way and you had completely turned. Crazy.  I wish we had a video monitor so I could see how you do it!

We love you so much and look forward to watching you grow!

Max 4 months

Our big boy is 4 months!! It makes me sad that a quarter of the year has already passed.  Max is growing so fast!

Max, you are eating 7 ounces 5-6 times a day.  You tried cereal for the first time last night and was not a fan!  We will try again in a few days.  I don't think you need it, so I'm in no rush!

Sleep:  You have been sleeping through the night for about 3 weeks now!  They usually have their last bottle around 7:30, have a bath then go to bed.  We have had about five times where they have slept til six, but we average about 5:30.  If Claire didn't wake up, he would probably sleep later!
You are taking great naps!  Your morning nap is the longest, but you average 1.5/2 hrs per nap!

You love bath time now!  The pool opens this weekend and I can't wait to take you and see how you do!

Clothes:  Our big boy can wear 6-9 months in most everything.  Some of his 6 mo shorts are to big, but the 3 mo are to small.  He is wearing a size 2 diaper

I think you are weighing 16 lbs.  I got on the scale with you last week and you were 15 lbs.

You are still not a fan of tummy time, but we still do it every day.  You usually keep your head down, but you can sit up in the bumbo seat.

Max is a mama's boy!!  I love it.  You are such a great snuggler.

You are cuter than ever! Your hair line is gone and you are all blonde!  You even have some spikes up top!!  You smile all the time and even laugh every now and then.
You follow voices and objects - you always know where Mommy is!

Our daytime routine is usually a circuit of toys!  In the morning you and Claire play on your mat, then later after your next nap you have some tummy time and will sit in your bumbo. You are getting better at grasping toys.   We try to take a walk every day.  It is starting to get hot so we are going to have to change our "circuit" around.

I'm more comfortable taking you and Claire out by myself.  Recently I took both of you to the grocery store and target.  You did great!

You went to Grandpa and Grandma Fredrick's house in Atlanta for the first time.  You did so good, especially since you didn't get all your naps in!  Everyone talked about how cute you were!  (still looking like daddy)  You are very loved!!  We are going back to Atl in July and I know you will have a great time!

We love you!

Catch up

Whew! There is so much to catch up on...not sure where to start!  We got back from Atlanta at 9 pm last night.  The weekend was fabulous and went by way to quick.  Yesterday, Max and Claire turned four months! My babies are growing up so fast!  We took our photo shoot today so I'll need to do a four month post asap.  And we tried rice cereal today.  I have gone back and forth on whether or not to do it.  Our pediatrician said we could start at four months but everyone I talk to has either waited longer or skipped it all together.
Max was not a fan and gagged - Claire did pretty good!  I did a video of her on my phone so if I can figure out how to post it, I will!

Here is Claire eating cereal.  I bought the Earth's best whole grain rice cereal.  I liked this kind because there were only a few ingredients.

Bicentinial Gardens

Also known as the Bog Gardens.  We changed it up a bit today.  It was beautiful so I thought it would be pretty to go to the Bog gardens.  I have wanting to take some "real" pictures, meaning not in the green chair pictures, for some time now.  Only problem is M and C can't sit without support.  I lugged the boppy and a towel for our prop.
New Shades

There were swarms of bugs everywhere on the walking path, so I just got a few cute pics before we headed off to Friendly Shopping Center

his hair is so blonde, he looks bald!

 So beautiful!

This next one is my favorite!
Love those piggies!

Time to start packing for our trip to ATL!  This will be their longest trip yet!

Max and Claire go shopping!

Max and Claire decided it was time to go shopping with Mommy - or maybe Mommy decided we weren't sitting in the house all day and it was worth a shot to take two four month old babies to TJ MAXX and Harris Teeter.

They did great!  The only hard part was getting them in and out of the car.  they are getting really heavy and it is hard on my back.  I went in search of hostesses gifts for our shower this weekend but didn't have much success.  Maybe we'll venture out again tomorrow!

Mom came over tonight to watch M and C so I could have a girl's night.  Justin was in a golf tourney til 7 and I was home by 8.  It was so nice to get out!  I love every minute with the babies, but sometimes, it is nice to be around adults!!  we went to a nice restaurant, but I don't think anyone loved their meal - I know I've had better.

when I got home, I was greeted by this cute face

He's turning into a Mama's boy!  As much as I love that, I also want to be able to leave ;)

Getting super excited about this weekend!

Max is ready for football season

Today's forecast was RAIN. ALL. DAY. so we had to find things to keep us busy.  After our first nap, we found this football outfit I bought Max before he was born.  I guess I didn't pay attention to size bc it was intended for football season! (it is 0-6 mo)  There is no way this big boy will be wearing this come September!

He was a good sport - usually Claire is the one doing photo shoots with her many outfits, but today, she played on her tummy.

and did lots of drooling!

They did not nap well today.  I think it's my fault.  I have been trying to push eating every 4 hrs, but they are not ready.  I think I need to wait til they are sleeping closer to 12 hrs at night instead of 10.  If I really think about it, I was doing it more for me.... I want them to have as much breast milk as possible and it is so hard to keep up with them if they eat every 3 hrs during the day.  Selfish.  Don't get me wrong, if they are hungry, they eat every 3/3.5.  Sometimes they take a 2.5 hr nap and aren't ready to eat before 4 hrs. BUT i am going to go back to waking them at 3/3.5 if they are still sleeping.

I think it is supposed to rain more tomorrow - yuck! However, I am looking forward to girls night!

This weekend Max and Claire went to their first birthday party.  Our friends have two year old twin boys that are cute as can be!  It was supposed to be a bounce party, but it rained, so everyone was indoors.

This is what I get to look forward to!

Max and Claire wore their best

my beautiful baby girl!

These next two are from our photo shoot yesterday.... today we stayed in our pjs!
Claire was watching Max play on the floor!

 my little stud muffin!

Not much going on.  We are leaving for Atlanta on Friday.  Justin's mom and sister are hosting a shower in honor of Max and Claire.  I went to check my Target registry tonight, only to find it had disappeared!  I guess they do it two months after the due date?  Who knows..... so I spent an hour going back to register online.
