Eventful day!

What a day!!!  My day started at 9 babysitting the Reaves twins til 11:30, lunch with my friend Jennifer who just had a baby. volunteer at Bargin Box 3:30-6:30, dinner with the girls 7:30.  I am beyond tired!
It was so nice to meet the girls for dinner.  It seemed everyone was celebrating something special, 4 engagements, anniversaries, and pregnancy.  I was good and kept my mouth shut.  It was so hard.  I wanted to jump in and share my good news too!
J called me on the way home to come meet him pick him up from Village Tavern.  He had been with customers and consuming adult beverages for quite a while.  As we were about to leave this guy came up and started talking to me and saying something about me being married.  I had no idea what he was even saying so I told him I didn't know what he was talking about.  Our friend Kerry kind of stepped in and the guy started talking junk to him asking if he was my guardian..... wrong thing to say!  Kerry, Justin and Jay all got mad and there were lots of words exchanged....loudly.  I was very embarrassed.  I am sure it wasn't good for my heart rate to get that high!!
Ahhh...now time for bed...gotta get up early for the dentist :( love my dentist, but hate going!!

Double the love

Today was our first u/s and the first thing out of the nurse's mouth was "there are two sacs" Tears of joy instantly came to my eyes!!

They are both measuring 7 weeks 1 day, which is exactly what I am.

Baby A had a heart rate of 152 and was 1.10 cm.
Baby B had a heart rate of 138 and was 1.04 cm.

Baby B looks like a baby already, but the part that looks like a head is the yolk sac...sounds like and egg, not a baby!  Mom said that it is an old wives tale that if the heart rate is high, then it will be a boy!  So maybe Baby A is going to be a boy!!

Still in shock!!  Time to clean out closets, guest rooms, and attic to make room for our little additions!

Hoedown Throwdown!

Tonight was my good friend Courtney's engagement shower.  It was a great party and was "Hoedown" theme!  They cooked a pig (OMG the best bbq I have ever had!) and everything was decorated to the theme!
They even had a band!
with the  bride to be!
toast to the bride and groom to be
We had a great time!  Good to see some old buds and look forward to their wedding in October!

The Help

Has anyone read this? OMG, I'm in love!  I have about 100 pages left and don't want it to end.
What are some other good reads right now?  I have a long summer reading list!

Life has been pretty boring around here.  We are looking forward to Monday when we get to hear heartbeat(s).  It will be such a relief!  I am still feeling poopy late afternoon to bed time.  Eating makes me feel good... but it has been hard to find foods I want.  Today, at the store, I loaded up on baked potatoes and flavored water.  Do you think I had a baked potato for dinner? Nope.  All the sudden I wanted a quarter pounder with fries.  So, so bad for me but I needed it! ha!

I spy

Berries!
Apparently I am growing raspberries and blackberries behind our deck?
Who knew?

Should I eat them?  My friend Katie said it looked like poison ivy mixed in?? I have no idea....but it is kind of cool.  there are a ton of berries!!

Today was another scorcher!  The forecast called for a sunny day so I greased and packed up and was headed to the pool....until it was overcast.  Boo... so I went to lunch with Brooke!  The sun was out when I got home so I pretended I was at the pool in my back yard!

Pregnancy update.  Can't wait for our appt next Monday to hear the heartbeat(s).  We are so excited to skype Justin's sister to tell her the news.  She has been in Australia since March.
The past few days I have been getting "morning" sickness in the evening.  It seems to hit around 5:30 and can last til I go to bed.  Not complaining bc I am so happy to be pregnant, but I won't be mad when it goes away.  My friend Susan said it best.. you feel like a constant hangover. Yep. that is a perfect way to describe my feelings!  I have also noticed that I go for major carbs to feel better.  Tonight we had loaded baked potatoes!  Hit the spot!  Still not into sweets, however I am going to try bananas again tomorrow morning.
Still haven't gained any weight! actually lost a few probably due to the lack of appetite.
Actually went to the gym today.  It felt great to be active!!

Have you checked out the new cooking channel?! I'm super excited!

The Fredrick's Country Club

Last night was our turn to host dinner club.  Each month a couple will host and choose a theme.  We decided to do a golf/country club theme!  Everyone, well most everyone, came dressed in polo's, saddle shoes, Lilly Pultizer, pearls and bermuda shorts.  We served heavy hourderves and it was all fabulous!  Justin wanted to make jello shots and I told him that wasn't very country clubish.... but he said it was at ours!  Don't even get me started on the two jars of moonshine that was consumed!
I got a great deal on these beautiful sunflowers that were perfect for our theme
Made Noble Pig's mini red potatoes (her's looked so much better!)
Lots of cornhole was played
We have such an amazing group of friends!  Justin woke up feeling the fun he had last night.  And I felt the same even though I did not drink a drop.
He got his first Father's Day card, breakfast and stayed on the couch to nap and watch World Cup while I was eating lunch with my Papa (grandfather).  We enjoyed a nice bbq lunch and I came right home to get back in bed for three hours! Tonight we went and had a yummy steak dinner with Mom and Dad and the guys were glued to the golf.
Love my dad!!

Beyond Tired

Way beyond.  Exhausted perfectly describes the past 24 hours.  Last night I spent the night with Brooke bc her husband was out of town.  She woke me up at 12:15 bc there was some odd activity outside (there have been some car break-ins the past couple of months) then at 3:48 one of the little ones woke up crying and did so for a long time.  I probably got 3.5 hrs of sleep and have been paying for it all day.

I had lunch with Lindsey and Lindsay today.  It was so nice to catch up. Brought my camera but it never made it out of my purse :(  Too tired to lay out today (bc that requires a lot of energy! ha!) went home to try and nap but was unsuccessful just like my trip to Costco.

I have been trying to get ready for our "Country Club" dinner club tomorrow night.  ironing curtains, table cloth, put out fresh flowers, marinate pork tenderloin and still lots to do .....tomorrow!  It's going to be a busy day.
I look forward to seeing everyone dressed all preppy!  Jenilee let me borrow her Lily dress!  Perfect!

Rain, Rest and Ziti

That was my day.  It was a good day to frog around the house since we had more thunderstorms.  I did venture out first thing to Furnitureland South to have a few early peeks at baby furniture! visit mom.  My eyelids were so heavy I barely made it home...tried to rest for a few hours but had a massive headache due to no caffeine.  After the thunderstorm I went in search of party decorations for dinner club this weekend.  Found nothing.  I'll have to try again tomorrow.
Decided to try Rachel Ray's baked ziti.  It was very good!!
mixed together sauce and ziti
added bechamel sauce
it calls for whole milk but I splurged by using 2% milk
Top with a sprinkle of Parmesan, 2% mozzarella, and smoked mozzerella
enjoy!
I threw in some squash and zucchini on my side!

Justin had a 9 pm soccer game (lets hope he makes it home in one piece!) and I had a meeting.... definitely ready for bed!

Rain and Sun

= rainbows!
and if you look close in the next one there are two rainbows!
you have to look really close!

Pictures

....or lack there of!  I think that's why I haven't blogged as much bc I think post our boring without pictures!  I haven't had anything exciting lately.  Last night I did make Grandma Darcy's spaghetti sauce!
This recipe is so good and even better when served with fresh pasta!  Justin's favorite!
Sunday I picked up a few peaches so this morning I had them along side of wheat waffles.
peaches swimming in milk!

It has been a nice first day off!  Slept in (7:45), laundry, went for a walk with Brook (HOT), decided to try the pool.. (even hotter!) and napped!  I still have a little cleaning up to do before Justin gets home and we go to Mellow Mushroom for dinner!  I have been looking forward to this dinner for a while now!  We just switched lenders and the guy is taking us out to dinner.  Their pizza is soooooo good!! I'm a fan!

Is the weekend already over?  Yesterday I enjoyed some "me" time at the pool.  It was Africa hot.  I even thought about getting in the pool until they closed the lap pool due to someone yaking.  Gross!!  ended up going to Target with Brooke and found two cute dresses!
This morning Justin decided to wake up at 6:30 - which meant I was awake too.  I was all ready to go to church when he "bribed" me not to go.  He said we could go to Lowes to get a new rug AND to the grocery store!  He never goes to the store with me.  I gave in!  We finally have a new and CLEAN rug for our den!
All that shopping made me hungry for this new find.
Lean Cuisine's new Spinach, Artichoke and chicken sandwich.  It was so good x 10 :)  with a side of squash and huge helping of watermelon!

Tomorrow is my last day of work til August! Woo Hoo!! I also have my second dr appt for blood work to make sure everything is progressing as normal.  I will be anxiously awaiting the afternoon phone call.

Dining

We are on the home stretch at work!! Two more days makes me a happy girl!  Although today went by painfully slow, our Principal took the office support to Chop House for lunch.  I enjoyed this delicious flatbread with fresh mozzarella, arugula, tomato pesto and balsamic reduction.  Heavenly!
Justin and I met the Reaves for dinner at Avenue, a new fine dining restaurant in the Boro.  It was a little fancy for me but the food was good.  For an app we had a portabello stuffed with lump crab meat and calamari.  the mushroom was so freakin good!  For dinner I indulged in a filet.  It was ok.  I had to be the picky person bc it was way over done.  You cannot eat a filet well done.
Kerry got a crap cake that was fried in phyllo dough and it was GREAT!
Brooke got the market special of Sea Bass and prawns on a grit cake
Justin had an unpictured scallops and tuna over wasabi mash potatoes.  It cleared his sinuses.
When we first got there Kerry made a comment about me drinking water so the waitress asked if I was pregnant.  After dinner she came to the table with a candle and said congratulations.
That's sweet and all, but um...where's the dessert?!  Have you ever?  I was extremely full and did not need a dessert, but going to a nice restaurant, you would think there would be a dessert under the candle!?

So happy the weekend is here!  Tomorrow we are having a catered bbq and chk lunch.  Yay!

Lucky 7

So I got to thinking.  7.  Seven is Justin's lucky number.  He was born on July 7th (7/7), we were married on July 7th, 2007 (7/7/07 - I know, what was I thinking) AND we found out we were expecting on the 7th!!  I think that's pretty cool!
I am still shocked and amazed that at times, I already feel different! Especially my appetite.  I have no time for sweets!...which is not good considering that includes my strawberries, blueberries, apples and sadly my peanut butter :( hopefully that will come back soon!  I also came home thinking I was going to the park for a walk and I fell asleep for an hour! That is unheard of!  I never nap.  It felt so good!  I never believed when people said they had symptoms this early - I guess you have to see for yourself!
For dinner we had chicken melts.  I don't know if that is the official name, but that's what I'm going with!  We had these all the time growing up.  They are easy peasy!  All you do is make chicken salad (mine is just chicken and light mayo) put it on an english muffin, top with pineapple and slice of cheese.  Broil til cheese melts!
These were minus pineapple b/c J doesn't like pineapple.  It is also good topped with toasted almonds!
I was glad when mom called after dinner to meet her at the gym.  It felt good to walk.  While I was walking I remembered I told our Principal I would make his favorite cake so I quickly hit up the teet (Harris Teeter) for the essentials.  I am currently waiting on the Weight Watchers Triple Chocolate Bundt cake to finish cooking and cool so I can hit the sack!

Oh, and I have to share what was on my door step yesterday when I came home from work.
there was pretty tissue paper in it and it was filled with all kinds of goodies
cupcakes in a mug book (yay!), gift card for a massage(in a couple months) or a facial, note pads and fun baby stuff!!  Oh..and can't forget the Hoops and YoYo card!
Thanks Brooke!  Love you!

It's a great day at the Fredrick house!

YAY!! I can't tell you how excited I am!!  I went in for blood work this morning and anxiously waited til 3:15 for the call!  I was so nervous I felt sick.  The nurse asked if I was ready to hear and I said no!...she said I was definitely pregnant and had great levels! I started crying.  I immediately called Justin and since I was crying he thought it was negative.  I am still in shock.  It is still very early (I think 5 1/2 or 6 weeks) so we aren't telling everyone.  Our family and close friends new what we were doing so if they ask, we will tell!  I am not good with secrets or surprises...especially this!  Mom is already emailing me name suggestions and looking at baby furniture (she is the youth gallery manager at Furnitureland South)!!!  Today is Justin's dad's bday so we'll call them tonight.  Justin wanted to wait til July and I told him he was crazy! ha!
I am, however, trying to be realistic since it is so early.  I go back next Monday for more blood work and will have my first u/s in three weeks!!!
Thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes!  It means more to me than you will ever know!

Kate plus 8

Are you watching Kate plus 8 tonight?  I still haven't decided how I feel about them (Kate and Jon).  Those kids, however, are the cutest!  I can't imagine their life and always wander what it's like when cameras aren't rolling.  Sometimes I feel bad for Cara and Maddy.  I think they have a really hard time having sextuplet brothers and sisters.  You can tell by their attitude.  This episode shows them with at-ti-tude!

So tomorrow is Monday....the day we have been waiting for!  I can't explain how nervous and anxious I am.  I don't think I would be as worried if I haven't been having cramps.  I know they said it was normal, but I think it was normal for cramps the first couple days after the transfer..not now.
We'll see. OMG OMG OMG!!!!

Fun in the Sun

Today was a beautiful day!  Blue sky, few clouds and lots of sun makes me a happy girl! The pool was calling my name so off I went.  It was HOT and I loved every single minute of it!
I enjoyed people watching, reading my book, and checking out the latest trends in People's Style Watch.
I basically decided I need want a white watch.  If People says it's cool, then it must be!
After a very hot two hours it was time to get ready for Jenilee's jewelry party!  We had so much fun and I bought the cutest necklace.  I can't wait to get it!!  Of course I forgot my camera so I'll have to steal Jenilee's when she post.

Justin came back early from his golf trip and treated me to dinner at Basil's.  This place is so good!
We started with a flatbread app and I had an ostrich burger with a side of risotto for dinner!  I love trying new things and this was definitely a good choice.
This did not disappoint although I probably wouldn't have this combo again.  It was very heavy.

Looking forward to another fun day at the pool tomorrow! then only one more day til we find out!!!  I am so ready :) for good news only!

Is it Monday yet?

I have never looked forward to a Monday until now.  I am having a hard time being patient for the result of the test.  Justin is out of town :( so I am bored.  I went to a business meeting that I have not been to in a while.  It was nice to be refreshed and get a little motivation!
I am still having a hard time finding something I am interested in eating.  I did not even have breakfast this morning! Crazy! A banana came with me to work so I had that mid morning.  I wasn't hungry at dinner time so I just went to my meeting.  Came home around 8:30 hungry.  Made a comfort meal...whole wheat waffles with butter and sugar free syrup and a fried egg.
Blog is being stupid and won't let me type below the damn waffle! Happy Friday and hurry up Monday!

Still have a boring palette - which is very weird for me.  I usually have no problem deciding what to eat or want to much.  After a few bites, it's still like eh!
Thought I would bring back the grits to see if that helped
grits with a scrambled egg and one piece of bacon
This did nothing for me. Running late for work what's new so grabbed a frozen lean cuisine of baked ziti with a side of green beans.  Dinner I picked up some pork chops and heath bar cookies at The Fresh Market.  This was paired with mash potatoes and spinach.
i mixed in some edamame beans
I ended up giving most of the meat to Justin.

Went to Barnes and Nobles tonight to get a birthday present for my FIL.  I love walking around that store...the smell of new books..ahhhh.!!!!  Then went to Halmark in search of the perfect card.  Found it!
Have you ever seen the Hoops and YoYo cards? OMG! They are hilarious!!! Can't forget to mail tomorrow!

Two more days til the weekend!!!!!!! yipeee!

no more stress....

I think! ha!  This weekend I had some cramping that reminded me of starting my period.  I started stressing and immediately getting sad and scared.  To ease some of my crazy thoughts, I emailed my nurse and asked if it was normal to be cramping and asked where am I in my cycle?  With the retrieval and transfer, I have no idea when I would even start.  She assured me I would not start before I go in for blood work (mainly bc of all the meds I still have to take) and that it is very normal to have cramps.  Ahhhh.... I can breathe!
This afternoon I got a call from Dr. W (embryologist) and he told us we had two more eggs that made it to blasocyst stage so we now have a total of 4 eggs that will be frozen! yay!  When he asked how I was feeling, I told him about the cramping (you can't have to many assurances! (is that even a word?)  ) and he said that most women do feel cramping and that many times cramping occurs during implantation!!!  I feel so relieved after talking to the two of them today :)

I had a Junior League Committee meeting tonight.  This year my placement is Membership, where I will serve as a Membership Adviser!  I felt so honored to be picked!  I am also nervous and don't want to let anyone down.  I am a very outgoing person, but when it comes to Leader positions, I get very insecure that I won't do something right and don't like to speak up in fear it will be stupid or the wrong timing.  I am hoping I will grow confidence this year!  We have a great group and I look forward to meeting the upcoming provisionals!!

Don't feel like uploading pics tonight...pretty boring day!  Must go attend to the hubs..he took something with Ibuprofen (which he is allergic to) and is starting to break out in hives! Oh MY!  He got mad when I wanted to stare at him and I told him I need to survey him in case I had to call the Dr!!  haha!  It's not too bad, I have seen worse on him...nothing a little benadryl can't fix!
