Little Fish!

I haven't been blogging much lately.  I need to... I have a lot I need to catch up on with Max and Claire.  I'm hoping to do a 2.5 year post soon.  They are keeping me busy. Last week they went to a swim camp.  It was 9-1 and they had swim lessons, went on nature walks and did crafts.  They loved and I loved having some time to get things done!

The instructors said the first two days they would cry and not want to go under, but by the end of the week they were little fish!

We went to Charlotte this past weekend to celebrate Father's Day and birthdays for my father in law and sister in law.  The hotel we stayed at had a really nice pool.  The kids stayed in the pool for almost two hours.  They had a blast!  I hope to get them more swim lessons this summer.

They love their Grandpa so much!  Just as much as Grandma's new ride!

The Amazing Race Casting Call

Last Saturday an acquaintance and I went to The Amazing Race casting call.  Yes, you read that right!  My friend, Jennefer was telling me her good friend has always wanted to be on The Amazing Race.  They just happen to be coming to Greensboro and Jennefer thought Liz and I would be a great team.  Liz is a mom of 11 year old quadruplets!

Our pitch was that we were MOM that needed an adventure other than potty training and carpools!  Also, we met through Bunko, so we really don't know much about each other, bringing a whole new dimension to the show!

Here is a clip from the one minute we were allotted to say why we should go on and one from our local  news station.  Our interview starts at 1:20.

Amazing Race Casting Call

Of course, the minute went way to quick and I know we didn't say everything we wanted to say.  We will only hear back if they want to do another audition/interview.
So cross your fingers and toes!!

Playgroup at the Beach!

Last week our playgroup headed to the beach.  One of the Mom's has a beach house in Morehead City.  It was the perfect house for our rowdy crew.  It was on the sound, but had the perfect little beach area for the kids as well as a huge yard to run around in.

Max and Claire loved the water.  Max really surprised me.  He was a fish and did not want to get out.  He was so brave!

Since we had this little private area, we let the kids run around in their birthday suits most of the time.

Our playgroup has six moms and 12 kids (11 were there) -- all 2.5 and younger!  The week went so well.  We were all so happy how it turned out.  The kids were behaved (most of the time) and the adults had a great time hanging out.  The only challenging part was sleep.  Some kids woke up super early (mine) and some went to bed really late.  It was really hard keeping the early birds and night owls quiet.

Claire loved helping with the babies!

Some of our handsome boys!

My two favorite littles!

Melts my heart!

He is so handsome!
We did manage a group shot, but it is on Heather's camera.  Taking a group shot of the kids was not an easy task, so we put them on the boat and let them play.

This is only half the strollers!
I love that Max and Claire's best friends' moms are my best friends, too!  Such an awesome playgroup!

Pool days

For almost the past two weeks, we have had beautiful pool weather and have spent most days at the pool.  The kids are loving it and it is even better since most of their best friends are there as well.
Claire has been a fish, even allowing me to hold her and help her float and blow bubbles!

Max went under the first day so it has taken him a little longer to get used to the water.  He likes to hold on to the side and jump up and down.

I bought them some swimmies, but neither are too fond of them.  I did sign them up for a week long camp that is 9-1.  They will have 1.5 hrs of instructed swim time.  It's two instructors for four kids.  I'm really excited and think they will love it and be more comfortable in the water.

Sadly, for all of us, the weather has been overcast and rainy since Sunday so we have been trying to find other fun things to keep us busy.
This weekend we will leave for the beach with our playgroup... moms and kids only.  Seven toddlers and three babies... #whatwerewethinking?!

Workout Tank

I've been on the search for a good workout tank for months, maybe even years!  I usually only wear tanks when I walk outside or for spin classes.  I am very self conscience to wear sleeveless at the gym bc my arms jiggle when I run!

The perfect tank needs to be the right material (read, not clingy and don't show rolls) and not $50.  It shouldn't be that hard to find one, right? Well, a few weeks ago I was in Walmart and just happened to walk past their workout section where some colorful tanks caught my eye.  It was even more appealing when the price tag read $5.96! For real?!!

I finally found the perfect tank! Not clingy, doesn't show too much, and cheap!  I went back to get another and think I'm gonna have to go back to get some more.
