My first Stitch Fix!

Last week I received my first stitch fix box! Over the last year I have seen a few people post on facebook about stitch fix, but I never really looked into it until now.  And I am so glad I did!

You start by filling out a style profile.  They ask basic questions (height, weight, etc) then ask how you like clothes to fit, what you like to accentuate, colors to avoid...etc.  A little piece of advice I got from reading other blogs, is to make sure you have an updated Pinterest board so your stylist can see what your style is.  Oh, you can also tell where you want to keep your price range.

There is a $20 styling fee, but if you keep at least one item, that $20 will go towards your purchase. If you keep all five pieces that are sent, you get 25% off your total.  You can get all kinds of clothes and accessories.  I opted against shoes, jewelry and handbags.

I was ecstatic when my first box got here!

I could tell I was going to like some of the pieces as soon as I opened the box!
This card came with the clothes ~ A personal note from my stylist and two photos of each item showing different ways to wear. I think my stylist hit spot on!  Two of the shirts were not ones I would have picked out in the store, but glad I tried on because I loved them!

My full length mirror is so old and disgusting, so I got my 4.5 yr old to take my pictures :)  I also did not take the time to style the outfits... i only have on the items that were in the box.  I look forward to piecing them with items already in my closet.

1. Dali Open Drape Cardigan $78
I love the colors and the fit!
 2. Rosa Tab Sleeve V-Neck blouse $58
Not a great picture, but this is a loose fitting blouse.
 3. Baya Lace Inset Pullover Sweater $68
really like the detail on the neckline

excuse the cheese face. It is navy so really hard to see how it really looks
 4. Anise Striped Vest $78
This was one of my favorites! I love navy and white stripes
5. Liverpool: Lianah Bootcut Jeans. $78
These are the jeans I am wearing in the pictures.  They fit perfect!  They are super soft and I haven't worn bootcut in a few years! The stylist said to wear them with low heel boots.

I put the prices next to each item because i really liked seeing them when I read reviews!  I did not realize there was a cheaper option when I scheduled my first box.  I have since gone back and asked for some pieces to be less than $50! (that option is called "the cheaper, the better") All of mine were in the $50-$100 range.  Normally I would not spend this much on five items, but it did average out to $50 a piece after my 25% off :)

The beauty of stitch fix is you don't have to sign up for a monthly subscription! You can order one box or sign up for monthly, every few months, or just whenever you feel like it!  I was going to wait a few months, until I realized I didn't have many church outfits and Kate is getting baptized next month so I figured I needed to order another box! It will be here November 18th!
